I’MMORTAL releases her third single, “KILLED U IN A DREAM,” on June 7, 2024. The alt-pop track explores themes of revenge, grief, and rebirth through haunting melodies.
I’MMORTAL, a music producer and vocalist based in New York and London, has released her latest single, “KILLED U IN A DREAM,” under her own label, Immortality. This track, produced by I’MMORTAL with additional production by Danis Zhang and drum programming by Duanna, was mixed and mastered by Mikaelin “Blue” Bluespruce, who has worked with well-known artists such as Solange and Mariah Carey.
Since her debut in August 2023 with the single “Versace Spaceship,” I’MMORTAL has made significant progress in the music scene. Her second single, “Supervillain,” released in October 2023, received support from publications like Earmilk and Clash Magazine. These releases have collectively garnered 60,000 streams across various platforms.
Originally from California, I’MMORTAL began her musical journey playing the violin in orchestras during her childhood and teenage years. This early experience in classical music laid the foundation for her current production skills. Her interest in electronic dance music (EDM) after high school inspired her to blend orchestral, theatrical, and EDM elements into her music, creating a unique style. Influenced by artists such as Sevdaliza, Britney Spears, Lady GaGa, and Lana Del Rey, her sound appeals to fans of both classical and modern electronic music.
“KILLED U IN A DREAM” represents a shift from the tone of her previous singles, exploring darker themes of revenge, grief, and rebirth. The song features a brooding anthem with a catchy hook, trap drums, and cinematic pop strings. It evolves into a pulsing dreamscape with glitchy synths and haunting vocals. I’MMORTAL describes the song as a reflection of her personal and artistic rebirth, incorporating an eerie BPM and key change to symbolize transformation.
I’MMORTAL’s visual art often explores themes of death and rebirth, the natural world versus artificial constructs, femininity, and her Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) identity.
Future projects from I’MMORTAL are eagerly anticipated, with fans encouraged to follow her on social media for updates.
