LOS ANGELES (TLEG) — MAWK3, an LA-based modern rock power trio, released their third single, “Masterpiece,” on August 9, 2024. The track, marked by heavy guitars and driving beats, continues the band’s momentum as they prepare for their debut album “Bravo Zulu” set for release this fall.
“Masterpiece” follows the band’s previous singles, “Supernatural” and “Thin Ice,” both of which received international attention. The band’s music has been played in over 122 countries, reflecting their growing global fanbase. The trio, consisting of vocalist/bassist Steve Giles, guitarist Jason Sweeny, and drummer Dan Nelles, formed in the summer of 2023 after years of playing in various bands. They quickly gelled, writing 30 songs in the first six weeks of their collaboration.
The band’s sound draws from influences like Led Zeppelin, Pearl Jam, and Queens of the Stone Age. This influence is evident in the raw power and energy of “Masterpiece,” which has been described by the band as a “banger from start to finish.” Their music aims to connect with rock fans across different eras through its fury and fire.
In a statement, the band expressed their gratitude for the support they’ve received, saying, “Hello! Thanks so much for accepting our past single(s) Supernatural & Thin Ice! We have just released our third single MASTERPIECE and we hope you like it just as much! Thank you!” Heathcliff from The Lions Ground Entertainment Group commented positively on the track, noting that “Masterpiece resonates well and has its moments, but adding a bit more flair could turn those moments into something really flabbergasting.”
MAWK3’s upcoming album “Bravo Zulu” is highly anticipated by their fans, who have been eager for new music since the band’s formation. The group’s previous releases have shown strong potential in connecting with a broad audience, further solidifying their presence in the modern rock scene.
