DeVere, the hard rock quartet, has announced the release of their fourth single, “Surrender,” on May 17, 2024. The track is available on all major streaming platforms.
“Surrender” captures the energetic and aggressive essence of contemporary metal. Self-produced by the band’s bassist, Will Vaughan, the song features relentless guitar riffs, haunting church bells, and a driving rhythm, all packed into a two-and-a-half-minute runtime. Lead vocalist Sammy Cassidy delivers a powerful performance, emphasizing themes of self-reliance and independence.
Critics and fans have praised DeVere for their intense and engaging live performances. The band’s previous singles, including “Again,” “Like Lightning,” and “Dead Before I Die,” have showcased their raw talent and have been well-received by the hard rock community. MetalTalk describes them as “London’s loudest band,” while Total Rock labels their music as “absolutely awesome.”
The cover art for “Surrender” complements the song’s dark and powerful sound. Featuring a shrouded figure and a vintage aesthetic, the design aligns with the band’s edgy and intense musical style.

Lyrics: DeVere – Surrender
I’ve been waiting for a while
For some sort of supernatural sign.
An intervention so divine, yo Gabriel, why won’t you blow my mind?
There’s gotta…
Be more to life than this.
Oh wherefore art thou destiny?
You got me down here dyin’ on my knees.
Delusions of grandeur disease means fitting in would be the death
of me.
Running out of years I’m in the twilight of my youth.
I’mma live my life like I’ve got everything to lose.
Hold my hands up high and cry, “Oh I have had enough.”
I ain’t waiting for a sign it’s time; to fuck shit up.
